Introduction pressure vessel steel(1.7779)
This materil are used in accordance with the respective applicable standards or customer specifications. The material is selected by the customer in viewof the strength and toughness requirementsunder specific operating conditions.
Upon request, voestalpine Grobblech will offer supportand advice in the selection. voestalpine Grobblech has developed special base materialsfor roll-bonded clad plates with cladding materialsrequiring special heat treatments for the purposeof corrosion resistance. A brief summary of theapplicable base materials according to Europeanstandards EN and ASTM can be found on pages14/15 and 16.
The pressure vessel steel has developed low alloy steel and alloy steel on the basis of carbon steel. From table 1, it is found that the carbon content of tapping steel is low, generally less than 0.20%, so that the pressure vessel steel has lower carbon equivalent (Ceq) and lower welding susceptibility coefficient (Pam), so as to ensure the welding performance of the steel. In addition, the pressure vessel is difficult to use, most of the containers are equipped with inflammable and explosive gas, and have certain pressure, easy to happen explosion accident. Therefore, the pressure vessel steel is required to have good toughness. In order to ensure the safety of the container, three types of pressure vessels are generally made of low alloy steel or stainless steel.
Application(1.7779)
This steel used for manufacturing petroleum, chemical, petrochemical, gas separation, storage and transportation of pressure vessels or other similar equipment, including carbon steel, carbon manganese steel, microalloyed steel, low alloy high strength steel and low temperature steel. The working temperature is generally from -20 C to 500 C, and the individual can reach 560 degrees centigrade.
